It depends on the use and the type of material. In private homes, more than a decade can pass between polishings. In high-traffic areas, such as apartment buildings or shops, wear and tear is greater, and it's advisable to check it more frequently.

Not necessarily. There are specific finishes and treatments that allow you to maintain or even improve the safety of the floor. In wet areas or areas with frequent foot traffic, anti-slip solutions can be applied.

In most cases, polishing a floor is a much more economical and sustainable option than replacing it. If the flooring is in good structural condition, polishing extends its lifespan and improves its appearance without any construction work.

Every floor is different, so the first thing we always do is inspect the existing flooring to see its condition and the material it's made of. A marble floor doesn't require the same treatment as a terrazzo or granite floor. From there, the surface is prepared, and polishing begins with professional machinery and abrasive discs that gradually remove the most deteriorated layer of the floor. This process is carried out progressively, using increasingly finer abrasives until a uniform finish is achieved. In many cases, once the polishing is complete, a buffing or vitrification process is also performed to enhance the shine and provide better protection for the flooring.

The price can vary considerably depending on the type of flooring and its condition. Working on a floor that has simply lost its shine is not the same as working on one with scratches, old stains, or accumulated wear. The total surface area to be polished also plays a role. For this reason, it's most common to calculate the estimate per square meter after inspecting the floor. This allows for a precise assessment of the work required and provides an accurate price.
